Hello guys,

I just decided to try fremantle on a clean installation on ubuntu 9.4.... everything went ok but when launching the SDK I got this :

Welcome to Scratchbox, the cross-compilation toolkit!

Use 'sb-menu' to change your compilation target.
See /scratchbox/doc/ for documentation.

[sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~] > export DISPLAY=:2
[sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~] > af-sb-init.sh start
bash: af-sb-init.sh: command not found
[sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~] >

has anyone suffered this before?

thanks in advance,

brangi

Hi,

you have to install the nokia-binaries too. It seems that you haven't done this. Have a look here (the last point of the installation instructions) how to do it. If they are already installed we have to have a further look what's going wrong

Cheers Daniel

Hi,

I am facing problem in starting af-sh-init.sh in a fresh installation of Maemo SDK over debian linux.

[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > af-sh-init.sh start
bash: af-sh-init.sh: command not found
[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] >

I have checked that Nokia binary, maemo-sdk-nokia-binaries_4.1.2 getting extraced in scratchbox

but faced problem in running

[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > dir
hello-world maemo-sdk-rootstrap_5.0beta2_armel.tgz
maemo-sdk-nokia-binaries_4.1.2 maemo-sdk-rootstrap_5.0beta2_i386.tgz
[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > cd maemo-sdk-nokia-binaries_4.1.2/
[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~/maemo-sdk-nokia-binaries_4.1.2] > dir
LICENSE dists pool

[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] > fakeroot apt-get install meomo-explicit
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package meomo-explicit
[sbox-FREMANTLE_ARMEL: ~] >

Please help if anyone faced the same problem with the possible soultion.

Regards

Suraj

Hm that's not how I did it. Here's how:
go here: http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/eula/index.php

enter the code and follow the instructions (paste the line provided into the /etc/apt/sources.list file)
then do
apt-get update
fakeroot apt-get install nokia-binaries

then it should work. Although it wont since you are running the armel version. go to sb-menu and select the x86 version and to it again there. Then it should work.

Ah that was my problem too.

I had missed the part where it tells you to add the source and install the binaries for BOTH atmel and X86.

I think the wording could be a lot clearer. Cool now I FINALLY seem to have the SDK installed properly.
