The Nokia device names N900, N97, XM 5800 - couldn't be something more interesting then numbers, numbers, numbers?

How about they create a new brand with a properly choosed name for the maemo device phone-series? Don't they see the advantage of a brand name like "iPhone" used and reused and easy to advertise, over numbers like XM 5800, XM 5610, N900, N95, N97, E71? What do you think?

Even the browser name at Nokia is with no inspiration, for Symbian the browser even has no name and for maemo is named "microb".
And talking about microB, why Noka cannot come with a better name for its web browser? Google is using "Chrome" like the new OS name they announced, so many companies care about the application names... and also device names... remember "Razor" brand name and "iPhone" brand name?

I'd rather not get a cool name for my device... that would raise the chance of someone stealing my device when I take it out to the beach in my 3rd world country.

I hope Rover does not live up to his name and turn out to be a dog...

"dog" meaning...

Slang.

1. A person regarded as unattractive or uninteresting.
2. Something of inferior or low quality: “The President had read the speech to some of his friends and they told him it was a dog” (John P. Roche).
3. An investment that produces a low return or a loss.

I like dogs so I'd call that added value.

From a slashdot article on life expectancy:

What the new analysis reveals is the reality of two Americas, one on par with most of Europe and parts of Asia, and another no different than a third-world nation with the United States placing 41st on the 2008 CIA World Factbook list, behind Bosnia but still edging out Albania.

Yeah, I'm kind of confused about the conversion rate between webbed feet, claws, hoofs and toes myself.
