So Maemo 5 Calendar lacks the most important feature in a calendar for me, and I imagine for many people.

If you create a repeating event, you can't edit or delete a single item in the event.

An illustrative example, I have "English class" in working days (Monday to Friday) at 9:00, today it's the national day and therefore I haven't the English class, but in the Maemo 5 Calendar I can't just delete this day, or edit it in some way.

The only options for repeating events is delete or edit the complete event.

Please, tell to Nokia that they should be fixing it ASAP voting for the bug 5294: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5294

I don't mind to create a brainstorm entry if it's necessary, but just would be a solution for the problem: "Support it!".

Indeedy, that should be fixed. This works fine in the Palm Calendar and it's something I use often.

It has been working fine on Palm Pilots with much
less computer resource's since the 1990's. The
Sharp Zaurus's from the early 2000's and later had
this capability as well.

However, I can't set any kind of repeating event on the n900 at all, much less edit one. The clock can have repeating alarms (with few options), but these do not show up in the calendar.

How do you set a repeating event in the n900 calendar?

a workaround for those with access to pcsuite: connect n900 to pcsuite and open the calendar / communication centre. there you can delete single events from a recurring event and the changes are immediately applied to the n900.

for my use case, similar to yerga's, i simply added the repeating event and deleted the exceptions. finally, on the n900 directly, i changed the calendar from "n900 (local)" to another one.

of course i'm still wishing this bug / enhancement request will be fixed asap, but until then this is a functional workaround.
