Unzip and unrar are both in extras-devel, I believe.

When I get my phone I plan to start compiling utilities where they are needed. It runs Linux I do not see a problem compiling and packaging such utilities.

As soon as the phone gets shipped (let's hope that will be soon) application such as an extractor will be made the second someone like Bruce gets their hands on the phone...

7-zip port would be great.
Plus since they already have a Linux version of 7-zip should be very easy for them to port it over.

Oh yes, p7zip on this device would be awesome. I wrote a Python program that uses p7zip in the background to compress and decompress large amounts of data in a very efficient way. I don't know if I will need it, really, but just knowing that I can have it if I do is awesome!

You can read about it here:

I've seen unzip in Extras, what is missing now is a graphical archiver to spare people from having to go to a terminal to extract archives.

Please ALWAYS CLEARLY state that Extras-Devel is NOT a place for new users as software is untested and might completely ruin your device. This is very important.
NEVER point a user to Extras-Devel without a clear warning.
