Well i dont know how good nokias standard app is.

But on my pc i use thunderbird, and using 3 IMAP accounts.
I would like have similiar app to N900 who can use 3 acc at sametime, and not need to log in to 1 acc to check that, then log out and so on.

and see all acc at sametime to see if someone got a new mail.

all i need to see is acc name and how many mails...example Toivosan (2) , toivosan 2 (1) toivosan 3 (8).

And just need to click on the name to go into the inbox.

Hopefull u all understand that blurry question =)

I was about to start a similar thread, I use ProfiMail on E90 and it have similar features as Thunderbird (multi-account, large attachment support, HTML emails, custom interval updates etc..) and this is really an important factor since I do a lot of office work via email and get huge attachments (mostly PDF schematics) that needs a short review and reply. Hopefully the default client on Maemo won't be so limited or slow as the built in Symbian client on E90.

My understanding is that modest is the default mail app in the N900 (modest is even the default in N8x0 tablets). So, you will be fine.

One thing Thunderbird does is to work well with IMAP servers with IMAP IDLE support. This way you can turn off the polling interval and new emails arrive instantly. Does modest support it? Claws doesn't (I use it much more now than in the past, as it's become better and better with upgrades).

I'm also a Thunderbird user and on my N810 I find the built in mail app, modest, to be too slow to use. I end up just using the web browser to read my gmail email.

It takes way too long for modest to refresh/load my mail.
I really do wish there was a fast alternative.

I have three email accounts running in modest with no issues except the occasional modest decided to stop working issue. :-)

I have it set for a relatively long update interval because I think people are so damn impatient these days.

Claws doesn't support IMAP IDLE (unlike Thunderbird), as far as I can tell.

It looks like a great email client to me.
