T-Mo has officially unveiled at least part of its Project Dark initiative. Take a look at the story here:

http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/25/t...-more-plus-pl/

So for me and my new N900 (when it finally arrives) i'm going to get the following:

$59.99 per month

Unlimited Data
Unlimited Text
500 Min. Voice

Not bad if you ask me and this is with NO CONTRACT.

Definitely a step in the right direction and more consistent with the rest of the world.

It's still a rumour that N900 will be part of Project Dark, isn't it?

In the U.S., yes... nothing has been stated about the N900 and T-Mobile.

I got a family plan on Saturday since I didn't like their new pricing plans (especially since they eliminated Fav 5). So between me and her (I'm paying 60.. 35 for minutes and 25 for unlimited smartphone data).

400 min (which won't be used), and Fav 5 (which is where 90% of the calls I make can take care). No SMS but since I can just do that through Google Voice that's not a problem through the unlimited data (which in reality I think is capped at 5 GB a month). So the tradeoff between old TMobile plans and the new ProjectBlack ones were voice minutes usage vs. SMS lol.

I clicked "how can I get a lower price?" and this interesting tidbit popped up:

Interest-free phone payment options are available in T-Mobile retail stores. Whichever plan you choose, you may be eligible to pay for your phone over time, interest free. T-Mobile offers qualified Even More and Even More Plus customers an Equipment Installment Plan (EIP) with in-store phone purchase. Learn more about EIP
Maybe someone can got to a T-mobile store and do some recon?

I have just left the T-Mobile store. Yearly savings over Alltel for 2 lines will be $408. Early termination fee for Alltel is $400. I break even from that point of view. Data is truely unlimited with a phone plan. It is limited with a data card. I hope there is a tethering app for the N900. Drawback for me is edge speed is all I get in South Alabama. They had no idea when the tower would be upgraded.
