Is the lack of portrait mode a software issue or hardware issue? Another words, if the n900 comes out with portrait mode for only calling, will the same phone be able to be upgraded to run all applications in portrait mode.

Thanks

It's software issue. Since for example the browser is said to get portrait mode support in an update before xmas, and Nokia has said that any 3rd party software can use portait mode if so wanted.

Hi, i somehow managed to get my n900 in portrait mode from a glitch. How weird.. lol

I probably cant recreate it again, but i just tilted the phone to launch the phone app then slide up the screen and closed the phone app.

It looks uGLY in portrait mode. No wonder Nokia use landscape only! I don't see myself surfing the web with portrait even if it's there.

And can you share under what circumstance did you encounter this glitch... as I'm sure everyone of us with a N900 would like to try it ;-)
