Hi-

I am a part time trader and have to ocassionally manage my trades from office- is there any way I can use N900 to remote login to my desktop at home and access the trading platform and manage my open positions?

Your response appreciated!

You can use VNC viewer, it's in extras-testing at the moment.

Project page: https://garage.maemo.org/projects/vncviewer/

VNC works nicely on the N900.

Any chance of seeing an implementation of the Microsoft RDP protocol any time soon? With windows machines it's kind of redundant to install VNC.

Also, OpenVPN + RDP makes the ultimate roadtime server management tool!

I REALLY would like/need VNC on the N900 so that's very good to know. But a quick question: How do you control the mouse without a trackball or something on the N900?

It's a touchscreen, so you just click / drag etc on the screen.

Yeah, I've seen the video long ago. But I thought the swipe-from-the-left-edge mouse function only worked in the browser, not from the desktop.

So are you saying you're running VNC from in the browser instead of as a separate app or does the Maemo mouse work outside of the browser? Sorry, I'm just not clear about how this is working...

i'm not so deep into the n900 software.
i just thought, if this function is available in the browser, it shouldn't be
difficult to implement it into other programs like the desktop remote.
