First off hi, as this is my first post. For the past 3 years, I have been stuck with my good old N91 8GB, waiting for something good to arrive. That something is definitely N900.

As most countries have their threads discussing buying options and deals with operators, I guess Italy deserves its own thread being one of the target launch countries.

So where are you guys going to buy/preordered your N900s, and have you found any call/data plans with the N900 (not that they are common in Italy).

I have already ordered it on the Online Nokia Shop. Actually I hadn't any plan, but after taking the phone I'll consider if I really need it.
What about you?

I'm a foreign student so really don't want to use my current address.

I hope I can buy the device hands on by next Wednesday. I checked www.fnac.it and they have a price reduction in their online orders, but they would probably ship later than Nokia.

Anyway I'm living in Como and I asked the local Nokia shop here two weeks ago. The people working here did not know of the N900 until the boss produced an N900 handset (it was not working though, one of the replicas) and said come back around 20th of November

Gonna check back with them tomorrow to see if they have any N900s incoming :P

I'm a luky Italian boy who received a N900 test unit so ... I can't help you to find a good place or a good price to buy this fantastic mobile phone, but I can tell you that the N900 doen't need a special offer for the data plan becouse it works great with all the Italian operator.
For exempe I use the Omnitel Iphone data plan ( 10 €/month ) and it works great. A friend of my use the 3 umts connection and ... everithink is ok. So ... I think that the first months ( until christmas maybe ) the N900 price will be the same everyware. In the new year I think you will find a discout.
But for the data plan ...use whatevere you want !

I'll buy it from Marcopolo Expert (just because I'm an "insider" so I think I can get a good price . Nno data plan in mind at the moment, I'll wait and see what kind of offer can suit me best. Generally, I'm kinda against subsidized phones btw...
