Is there any way to make the video full screen on the default media app? I keep having black bars either at the top or the sides like the video is being cropped..

Any ideas ?

that is fullscreen, just with letterbox. If you want the videos fullscreen, use a converter on your pc to convert it from 4:3 to 16:9.

Your videos don't share the same aspect ratio as the screen, so those bars are there to prevent stretching in the vertical or horizontal directions.

I don't know if the media player has the keyboard interface of mplayer available, but try w and e (mplayer pan and scan).

Or just wait till VLC for Maemo is in a nice stable version.
We are all hoping it supports most of the desktop versions functions, including stretching & circumcise the video.

Thanks for the info guys
Yeah I'm looking forward to a nice stable version of VLC

Unfortunetly I am unable to D/L mediaBox or Canola I keep getting installation corrupt errors
