Hey guys,

My N900 has just shipped and should arrive Tuesday *cheer*

I was wondering if anyone knows if the vpnc and vpnc-gui apps are safe to install yet, as they are the most critical for me and my job, and I am SO ready to be rid of my laptop everytime I need to go somewhere in case my work calls me.

So that said, is anyone able to tell me if vpnc and the gui portion of it will install themselves on the correct /opt partition or will it attempt to slap it on /?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows. (Or able to find out?)

Not quite sure what you meant by vpnc

If you meant VNC viewer, there is vncviewer in Extras (not Extras-testing) which is safe to install and worked well.

vpnc is the cisco vpn client that existed for maemo 4 (os 2008) and worked well. It should be in the devel list I think if you have a phone already and can take a peek. It might even be in the main list, not sure.

There are no VPN client yet as far as I can see, they're in devel so I wouldn't risk trying it out until they're in at least Extras-testing

Ugh, okay thanks for looking for me. It's the one app that I really need, that's make-or-break for me and the phone. If I can get it working with my office, then I will truly be "free" to work whereever without needing a laptop kept in my Jeep all the time.
