Hi,

A friend has asked me if the N900 will support Greek characters while entering text on the hardware keyboard (for typing in Greek). The official N900 announcement from August does not list Greek as one of the supported languages, but it seems to me that entering characters should be a lot easier to implement than having the whole UI translated. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have not tried entering Greek characters but the ID3 tags on all my Greek MP3 tracks show up correctly.

Hi,

I'm using Greek on my N900 - but only on the virtual keyboard which works really well with the predictive text dictionary . I notice that Greek isn't available as a option for the Device Language though, so I have no idea how to use Greek with the hardware keyboard. Is there some key combination which will switch between the two languages?

Cheers,

m.

There is no Greek hardware keyboard layout available in Settings > Text Input.

@Lacedaemon

Are you using ukeyboard or is there another application to use for greek.
I am trying Ctrl + Space in SMS but it's not working. Where should I press Ctrl + Space?

just give it another try making sure you follow all the steps carefully. The method does work on both pr1 and pr1.1 for me. And it did work right away.

Tips:
1.make sure rx-51 doesn't have an extension (extensions not visible on stock N900 file manager nor windows xp by default)
2.make sure that you reboot first and then choose russian
3.choose russian on the "hardware keyboard layout" (very first option) only. Down the page choose 2nd language: Greek
4.I have checked use dual dictionaries, don't know if it matters

I'm out of ideas...
