Would be nice to know if there are sites where we can download apps for the Nokia N900. I only know:

http://maemo.nokia.com/maemo-select/applications/

Are there any other sites?

Theres an application manger built in to the N900 and you can download most thing through adding reposotories. There are already 2-3 available now.

can anyone make (or link to) some kind of tutorial regarding "reposotories"?
ie what a reposotorie is, how you find them, how you work with them.

i honestly dont quite know what reposotories are, except them being some kind of "library" for apps to download from or something like that.

Evidently not helpful though...At least he gave finding it by himself a go!

I too would like to know about repositories if anyone wouldn't mind doing a mini guide or explanation...

Not everyone knows Maemo that well and I'll have never used Linux before but I want to learn...

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?

You don't need to know.

Just go to http://maemo.org/downloads install what you like, everything else is handled automatically.

But if you want to know about repositories read these
