Hi all,

I've been using the N900 for a week or so and I've seen the following anomalies that I can't find in Bugzilla. Before I reported them I wondered if others could verify them too or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

1. Calendar widget. Shows events that are happening within 2 weeks correctly, however it fills the rest of the list with events from any time in the future. Example, I have 2 events within 2 weeks which are displayed correctly, I also have 4 events happening in 3 weeks (which aren't shown), but it is showing events that are happening in October 2010.

2. Widgets (OMWeather, RSS, Countdown) vanish every few days from the desktop. Reboots don't help, adding again works for a time.

3. Merged contacts seem to un-merge themselves now and then. I cannot find the reason for this.

4. Not really a bug, but when new email is received, if you click on the notification to view the email, it is impossible to delete it. The delete button is greyed out. It appears that you have to load the full email client to get delete abilities.

5. I've also experienced the rapid battery drain problem. This was at a location where although I could connect to the open wireless account, it needed further authentication for me to browse the web. Maybe the applications were trying to update themselves without success, but it managed to drain the battery in 4 hours flat.

If anyone can confirm any of the bugs, I'll add them to Bugzilla.

Other than these minor problems, this is the best phone I've ever owned. Coming from E90, HTC HD, HTC Touch Pro 2 to N900 was the best thing I've done. I hope that proper MSN messenger and facebook chat arrive soon, as this will become a communications hub for me.

Cheers, Andy.

I could not replicate this error with regular events. The widget only shows events within the coming two weeks it seems. Could the events in october 2010 be of different type or priority somehow?

I have the same some events from the google sync cal or the internal N900 one it shows, it is a bit random as far as i can see but the birthday cal it only shows next 2 weeks..

Yeah there are some things that take a lot of cpu, Many times i look at top and i have no idea why that process is taking so much time (something like tracker i can remember from yesterday)
I do think (or hope) that in a few updates the battery will improve because of the unneeded cpu that seems to be used now. Or that cpu is used no to much, like showing an IM window.. why does it take so long to show the previous/history content? This can be optimized way more i think.

I have the same thing.. i love the phone but it could and i think it will be way better down the road.

MSN is already supported if you enable the testing repository and install it.

I've not seen this - the OMWeather applet has sat on my desktop for the last week and has never vanished. It does seem a bit flaky about updating though - I'm not sure the auto-update has ever run.

This one is already reported, see https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5417. Annoyingly it's marked as a WONTFIX, but if enough people vote for it, maybe they'll change their mind?

I haven't come across your other bugs on bugzilla, although I haven't searched thoroughly. In general I would say that you should feel free to report a bug without necessarily first asking here whether anyone else has seen it too, although that certainly doesn't hurt, and can draw attention to the bugs so that other people can vote for them etc.

The events that are appearing in the widget are birthdays and repeated calendar entries such as public holidays. If the widget is only supposed to show the next 2 weeks, that's fine. I just dont want to see events that are happening this time next year!

As regards syncing my contacts, I do plug my phone in to my pc to charge and update to Nokia PC Suite, but I'm not syncing PC Suite with outlook or exchange.
