I do not use the app so can't help there but felt condemned to say this.

Certain microphone issues have been caused by the use of the FM radio app whereby a reboot of the device is required after FM radio app use in order to get the mic to function normally.

Is this why the app is down at the moment?

I believe it is. Hopefully it will be back soon with the bug worked out.

I have tried setting the frequencies to various known fm stations but still nothing happens. I dont even hear the "radio scanning noise" that you would hear while adjusting a FM station. Is there anyone who has actually managed to get FM reception from this app or any other app for N900/Maemo5?

Yea, dont use the FM Radio app unless you want your mic to become disabled. If you really want to use it then this is what happens with mine. I have my earphones plugged in before starting the app. When the app starts you still hear nothing. When you pick a station (by flicking the dial) and you get a hit then you'll start hearing the radio.

You have to uninstall Fenec and disable Mozilla repository in order to listen FM Radio. There's still problem with mic though. We have to wait for bug fix.

A new version of FM radio is on it's way and expected to hit extras-testing today.
