Well I never had luck installing Maemo Mapper I allwais get some BS error...
Can any body help me out for the 30th time I want to try Maemo Mapper and I cant.... now I get error..
Fail to open File for writing
/media/mmc1/maemo-mapper/16/0/0.jpg

No.
I have about 500MB free

Also I SCP to the system and on mmc1 there is no maemo-mapper folder.
can anybody share one so I can upload it to mine.

Do I have to install an older version before I install the latest from the repo?
I never had good luck with this app and I really do need it I am tired of renting damn GPS at the rental car places!!!! I travel 98% of the time for my job... Damit..

just create a directory on your card !!!!
and then place /media/mmc1/YOUR_DIR_NAME on maemo-mapper settings !!

Now it saying "Error Downloading"

You've set up a URL in the settings to get maps from?
There are a few places but Google maps seems the best.
Using this curently works for me:
http://mt.google.com/mt?n=404&v=w2.29&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

I try that one and several others and they dont seem to work.

Two days ago I helped a friend of mine to install MM on his own N770, and it gave same error... Double & triple check the URL, after that it should work. I made an installation from scratch and it worked almost flawlessly. Sometimes Google's server doesn't like your map request, but after two or three retries it works.
Are you sure not to have any problem on your MMC? I have no other hints, sorry. Mine works perfectly from MM1 on IT2005...

Nope no problems with MMC and if I did it woldnt cause Download errors with MM
