This won't be linked off my blog (no guilt for not clicking ads!) and is only for posting for all you here for now. I took apart my 770 and took a small handful of photos. I'm willing to answer any questions you may have about the guts, but to be honest it's not all that exciting inside. What IS amazing is how little of the device is actual "computer power" - It's mostly display and battery! There are no mysterious connectors inside other than the "serial port" that's clearly visible under the battery cover.

Thanks for your bravery! One thing I noticed is that the pins for the battery are very close on the circuit board to the USB port. It may be possible to jumper power from there to supply USB devices like portable keyboards. I think the battery is only 3.7 volts, but that may work just fine with some devices. I performed a similar modification on my iRiver H320 mp3 player to get power for it's USB port for connecting thumb drives and camera card readers.

Can you see what is the serial or model of the screen?
Any hardware hacks that you see possible?
I am sure that serial can be hack. I all ready see my self trying to debrick the 770 using the serial interface.

aaaaaaaaahahahah. Naked 770 surgery! I'm so WRONG! Yeah - my warranty expired a few days ago so I had no fear. Worst case scenario: I'd have to buy another one. It went back together and worked on the first try!

Sadly, the tightness of the build leaves VERY little room for hacks or even case mods. I wanted to build a little LED lit window in the back of mine, but there'd be nothing interesting to see other than shielding.
