I've noticed lcd on n900 started to go down around 0.2-0.3 mm and make an annoying sound like low level squeezing sound.

try holding it on landscape mode and apply light poser from the Nokia carving through n900

Umm... doesn't happen to me.
However you should know that's not directly the LCD you're pressing on; There's some rough plastic combined with the touch-screen matrix, the lcd is behind those.

Well ...

1.) it is quite normal that it slightly moves up/down (minimal) for resistive displays.

2.) The sound comes likely from your loudspeaker!!! I also initally thought it were bad build quality, but this is pre-setted sound when pressing the screen .... :-)

If you don't like it, swhich it off!

Is it possible that this is the touchscreen vibration you hear? You can deactivate that in the screen's settings.

Asidana, you could also try turning the vibrate off, but leaving the screen click sound on at the lowest level. I like it best that way - got annoyed by the vibrate in the end (and it sorta kinda felt like the screen was giving in a bit when tapped).

as said before resistive screens do flex when you press them, its nature of technology and not fault of any kind
next time you got to super market ask at checkout if you could have a feel, larger screens show this even more
