hi
I tried to install mamona ( http://dev.openbossa.org/trac/mamona/) on my N810, the installation was more-or-less OK, but after that the device shut down and didn't wake up. I can't power it on, no matters what.
I tried to reflash it, but the computer doesn't recognize it, and the device not seems to be responding. it also doesn't charge the battery at all (I charged it via E71, so now it's full for sure).
I searched for hours, even tried to freeze it, but nothing worked. the only thing I found is to cold flash via the computer, but I'm getting some problems with that, and I don't want to make a mistake.
I'm trying this command:
Code:
./flasher-3.5 -c -h RX-44 -F RX-44_DIABLO_5.2008.43-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -S usb
and I get this error (last line):
Code:
When cold flashing, please supply the product with '-h', e.g. '-h SU-18:1601'
and I don't know how to find this XXXX code from my device.
if I just put someting like "1601", I get that error:
Code:
You have to supply the 2nd image
and I really don't know what that's mean.

I'm really desperate, and I'm really looking for help with the situation, maybe this way is wrong, and there's another solution ?

thanks very much

i believe the numbers you need are under the battery on the n810 itself. Pop the battery out and copy the code. Good luck

they say XXXX code, and give "SU-18:1601" as an example. I guess this means 4 letters, isn't it ?

anyway, do you have an idea what is that "2nd image" ?

thanks

Where did you get the command for flashing ?
The FIASCO image contains several images, I don't see -f in your command, maybe that's why the "2nd image" request.
Also md5sum check your image.
My device has the same number you circled in red, we have different CNC-ID, mine says "C-5205".
read this:
http://maemo.org/development/documen..._flasher_tool/

And maybe try an older flasher. When you go to
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/
and click on
Linux, Mac OS X flashers
the 3.5 version is not on the list.

yes, didn't work. I'm sure it's software...
I tried this command:
Code:
./flasher-3.5 -F RX-44_DIABLO_5.2008.43-7_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin -f -R -c -h RX-44:0902 -S usb
that gave me:
Code:
SW version in image: RX-44_DIABLO_5.2008.43-7_PR_MR0
Image 'kernel', size 1500 kB
	Version 2.6.21-200842maemo1

	Version 1.1.16-200844maemo2
Using serial port usb
Suitable USB device not found, waiting.
I took 0902 cause when trying with "661E" the output says:
Code:
...
Image '2nd', size 8192 bytes
	Valid for RX-44: 0801, 0802, 0803, 0804, 0805, 0806, 0901, 0902
	Version 1.1.16-200844maemo2

...
so I took the latest one (my device is less then 1 year old)

BUT...

unfortunately, this doesn't work, and the computer still waiting for the device. also dmesg doesn't show any messages.
just to mention, the flasher and the image worked well many times before this, so I guess it's not the problem.

That's what it suppose to do , wait, then you unplug the power and press power while holding home key.

Try a few times. Last time I flashed, it stopped in about 25% then in 70%, only on the third time I tried it worked. So this board is unpredictable. And take the battery out for a few hours (5-6), that also has an effect on power up.
I'm just a noob I don't know anything, but when I had a problem with power up, I put it in a bag and the battery in the same bag, ten minutes in the freezer. Then I inserted the battery while evrything was still in the bag, to avoid condensation and it powered up.

You should also try flashing on windows (that was painfull to write)

Read this :
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=121768&postcount=7

I don't know what recycle means, but try unpluging and pluging.
BTW the charging icon when pluging the power disappeard to me many times, it's meaningless.
And take the card out. And don't use a usb hub. And removing the "-S usb" from your command. And check your usb cable with a different device.

So bad for me...
I tried several times reflashing with linux and windows, including power plug/unplug, without MC, but nothing happend.... the computer don't give any sign for recognizing the device (including dmesg)
I also tried freezing, and I took out the battery for days. still, nothing works.
I even tried to contact my local Nokia importer, but they said they can't help because the device isn't sold here.
