My n900 contacts are a mess. I mean a REAL mess. My contact list starts with ~20 blank lines for example.

I desperately want to clean it up. But how?

I have about 600 contacts. I have a google account. Maybe import my n900 contacts to google? (how?)

Thanks!

yep, I have about 50 icq numbers (without assigned names) there.. lovely.. at least the contacts merging works and contacts' shortcuts on desktop are a nice feature...

The merging is not an option with 600 contacts. Just goes too slow...

You can export your contacts from the N900 as a VCard 2.1 or VCard 3.0 file, then import that into Gmail. Clean everything up in Gmail, then export a VCard file from Gmail back into you N900.

That might work,
but when I export my contacts, my n900 gives me back 600 files. I cat'ted them into one file, that did not work.

How do I import multiple vcf files into gmail fast?

O wow:

How I did this:
1- Export contacts from the n900
2- cat *.vcf >> allcontacts.vcf
3- open allcontacts.vcf with gedit
4- replace END:VCARDBEGIN:VCARD with END:VCARD\n\nBEGIN:VCARD
5- import into google contacts!
