In my tinkering around with my N900 I've manged to brick it several times... As such when I re-flash it the first thing I do naturally is re-obtain my programs, however two out of the three times I've had to flash my phone the repositories fail to update for me the first time I attempt to do so...

Anyone else have similar issues or is it just myself? I know it is not my internet because everything else works - including the web browser on the phone.

Regards,
~Jeff

Haven't been able to synch the repositories and I've been trying all day. The log says stuff like

E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/downloads.maemo.nokia.com_fremantle002_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened

I'm in agony.

This truly is painful. The hardest part of re-flashing my device is trying to get the repos to ping properly so I can update my device again...

If distros like Ubuntu & Debian can support there thousands of packages with millions of users its a bit stupid that Maemo/Nokia has issues with their small package/user base IMO :-/

EDIT: Also it appears that only the Nokia repositories are having issues - the Maemo Extras syncs right up for me as well as the tools, however both default Nokia repos fail. Super annoying, I was hoping to finally have my N900 setup this morning
