I was wondering what the deal is with the repositories and software. Maemo.org has not yet caught up with a 2007 Application Catalog. I have installed a few things from 2006 some work some don't. I just thought it might be a good way to find out what is working on the n800. If you have installed something and it is or is not working please post it here.

I installed these from 2006 Application Catalog:

becomeroot (no problems)

libncurses (no problems)
osso-xterm (problems with backspace and arrow keys)

mplayer (worked great on the n80 video)

streamtuner (installed fails with error)
( streamtuner: error while loading shared libraries: libXau.so.0 )

kismet (installs and seems to load perfectly, detected my network with no ghosts, but display problem, most likely an xterm issue)

Someone's already started a page on the wiki about it:

http://maemo.org/maemowiki/OS2007_Tested_Applications

It could do with some improved structure, and there's also another thread here discussing it (somewhere).

I have tested the following:

-gpe sudoku: worked perfect, no issues
-panel clock: installed fine, but icon didn't show due to changes in OS. Manually forcing icon (in Navigation applet) makes it show.

There are other games I've tested, some working, some not... I'll list them later.

EDIT: Here's an interesting one-- once I added the bt plugin, the device now crashes and reboots after telling it to connect to my su8w bt keyboard and then I pull up the tableteer page. Odd.

Mplayer is NOT working properly for me... The colors are garbage and it does not scale to full screen. The same video clip plays fine with built in media player...

I can play the n93 video it comes with full screen, it was a little choppy, but I did not change any parameters on the command line, just:
