I'm trying to implement custom application launcher in c++ with UI based on clutter 1.0 under Maemo Freemantle (N900). I'm using GAppInfo api to retrieve information about installed applications from .desktop files. I've encountered few problems that I can't deal with by myself.
I have problem with launching of some applications. I've been trying to use g_spawn_command_line_async from Glib and g_app_info_launch from Gio and not all of the applications are launched. In both cases my application is acting the same, some of application are launched without any problem and some of them aren't launched at all.
Can someone tell me where to find code of the native application launcher because i also have problem with finding icons to some of the applications. They seem to be put in few directories and in .desktop files there are only names of the icon files and i would like to check how they're being located by native launcher.
The last thing is proper displaying of applications names. In desktop files there are names different from those which are displayed by native launcher i.e. in file /usr/share/applications/hildon/nokia-maps.desktop there is Name=nokia-maps-core and in native launcher there is Maps name being displayed.
