Hi,

I had a Google Talk account and when I try using that on the N800 it always fails to login. I've tried the gmail.com and googlemail.com suffix. Was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues.

thanks

Adam

No problems like this for me.
I've got a gmail.com account, and i'm able to log in,
use chat, or voice with no problems.

Are you sure you give it the good password, take care of
caps ? Do you use special caracters ?

I know I was entering in my user/pass correctly. I tested it on a few other PCs. Not sure what it was, but it finally worked for me last night.

In general the google talk/chat solution seems a bit flaky. Anyone try making SIPs calls yet via the 'service' buddy in googel talk?

I do not know if this is related. It seems that ' Gmail ' , known as Google Mail in Germany and the United Kingdom, is well-known for the use of Ajax programming in its design. Perhaps this is an issue that is related to the problems that you face. I think it has been mentioned somwhere in this Forum that Ajax Software has some issue with the N800.Your issue may also be related to the Security Implementation of Ajax.

FWIW gmail itself works fine for me. I noticed though that I must close the browser before I try logging in again (or change to another account), emptying the cookies too seems to be good.

Check that your region and Clock settings are correct. This may help sometimes.

If you are logged in to Gmail anywhere else, your PC for instance, you will encounter problems logging in on the N800.

Texrat: I have no problems being logged in to gmail at the same time from my PC and my N800. I'm permanently logged in on two different accounts on my desktop computer, and I can access both accounts on the N800 (one at the time), with no problems (except what I mentioned that it seems to be necessary to stop the opera browser and start a new one between switching gmail accounts). I've also accessed gmail from my laptop while on mission, and at the same time being logged in on my desktop computer. When I get back to the office the gmail screen is in complete sync with the N800 (or laptop) screen, i.e. read/unread etc. is up-to-date with whatever happened on either computer.
