Hi,

http://maemo.org/downloads/product/Maemo5/conboy/

says Conboy (for the N900) has an 'Improved Portrait Mode'.

Using the physical key board in portrait does not work nor does it make sense. The virtual key board does not pop up on my phone when in portrait mode, does it?

Now, is it possible to enter text in portait mode?

Cheers.

Paul

As I understand it, as of PR1.1 authors are only able to improve the presentation of their apps in portrait mode. But as long as Fremantle doesn't provide a system-wide, portrait virtual keyboard, they can't offer data entry for that display...

Well, they could... by implementing their own portrait mode keyboard. But that would be a very bad case of reinventing the wheel. The portrait-mode keyboard has to be solved in a standard way by nokia I would say.

The portrait mode in Conboy is only for reading notes because there is no portrait keyboard - unfortunately.
The improvement in Conboy is that you now can switch between notes while in portrait mode. Not a big change but quite handy some times

Indeed, I found it really useful. It also made me think that if Conboy supported checkboxes and/or strikeout, as some other note managers do, these could be actioned in portrait mode even without a keyboard, making it even better for todo/shopping lists etc...
