So the major update came but no mms and no 3g video call
Most of it only bugs fix….anybody knows when or if it will be?

please don't tell me that I can call with Skype or email for "mms"...you know....not all of the people have smart phones....some times I wont to photograph picture and send it to someone with "old" phone or someone not that "tech" , the same is with video 3g call.
So it is important!
any body know when the next firmware update will be ?

Nokia has made it clear that they do not give information about when updates are going to be released. They didn't even say that PR1.1 was coming a few days after the first one. Maybe this is for the better, to keep the programmers safe from external pressure regarding deadlines
All you can do is wait. And try out a community app for mms

its very understandable that you would want mms, i do

The thing it the phone is only out a few months and as the same with all phones. The first firmware was only for the bug fixes.

Fmms is working well for me and alot of others, so i think they left it out because they knew it would be made by someone else and it was, frals had fmms out a month ago.

I do think the lack of video call support is shameful. They put a front face camera on the phone but didnt include support for making video calls.

I think its way to soon to be asking for new firwmare but always remember its already in the works(what else would they be doing) and the next one will not just bring bug fixes but also features aswell.

My guess is they will bring out mms support themselfs but i dont see that being anything special as they really are advertising this tablet/phone as open source, i think they want us to make it ourselfs.

You guys can stay chilled, look at 5800, how many years are they? 3? and it's still getting updates.

So whenever there's something new to have, N900 will probably have it

I think your calendar is slightly skewed. AFAIK the 5800 was released in late November 2008.

Chris.

There is a extras-development mms app i have just tried that sends MMS's fine!
and 3g video calling... hmmmm not yet but again, gtalk / jabber video calling seem to work

Each of these attempts prove things work - so getting closer!!

You knew there were no MMS or video call support out of the box and no-one has promised any of these in any future firmware update and you still bought a $600 phone? Who there is to blame?

Bit harsh!

They also bought an open source phone which means clever people like frals can help to add wanted applications

Yeah, that's true, but it still doesn't justify "omg nokia is so dumb they didnt include feature x"
