Hi,

This is my first post ever, so bear with me if its in the wrong location. I checked and this seemed most fitting from what I saw.

I recieved an IM to my phone from "Registry.online.scs671" believe it is from a skype account. I thought that there would be an OTA update for something like skype. It wants me to add this as a contact to make the link work. The link it wants me to go to is <URL removed>.

I am not following instructions on this as I have seen bs(sketchy looking emails) like this mess up computers, but if someone knows something I don't it would be great!

PS. New to skype as well, does this happen often with skype on the computer?

I get skype IM spam all the time. If you get a msg from anyone you don't know, just ignore it and block them (can you block people on n900 skype client?)

Sounds like a spam message. It happens quite often in skype.

In case you have doubts about something like this you should scan through the forums to know if there is an authentic update.

I have gotten it many times too. Just block the user as suggested by stipaul.

Can you edit your post and remove the URL? It really does point to a fake AV malware site that could be dangerous for any poor souls running windows.

Guys,

Please make sure that on your computer version of Skype, you check the privacy option "Only people in my contact list can send me Skype messages". This ensures that you won't get these kind of spams in the future.

People can still contact you and add you to their Skype lists, but will see you offline until you explicitely accept them.
