Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have a CCTV dvr which broadcasts over the net using my ip address and an open port so using a pc I can visit my ip such as 1.234.56.789:75 and access the streaming footage.

On the N900 when I go to the ip address, the page opens with the dvr controls - but the streaming image does not appear - just an icon with a play button - if I click on this it offers to save it as a mov file - I think this is quicktime -

so,can the N900 accomodate streaming quicktime mov format or is there any download solution? thanks again.

That is precisely the kind of setup I need after recently having been burgled! I'm not entirely
sure if the quicktime streaming format is supported by the N900, but perhaps you could
set your broadcast to stream a video format the phone can accommodate, such as flash?

good idea for an app here. if someone rings your doorbell, the phone starts dtreaming from the front door camera so you can see who it is. very limited number of people who would use it though so actually a very unrealistic idea.

also i have no idea if it would be feasable. would be very very cool though

Hi, I'll look into that but the problem is that the DVR broadcasts and all I would be doing is going to an ip address - so how would i tell the N900 to interpret the stream as being something that should open with mmplayer? Thanks.

Anything is feasible with the correct combination of 0's and 1's.

I have a full CCTV set-up on my summer property, and typically view streams on a laptop. They are set up to automatically alert me if the CCTV system detects motion on one or more cameras. It would be neat to notify my N900. Is it possible? Sure. Likely that someone will code an app for something like that? Not so much.

this is a link to the file (Eagle Eyes) I used when setting up CCTV on the Nokia N95 - I presume these Jar files won't work on the N900 being a different system altogether?

Thanks for any help.

But all I really want to do is get the N900 to play the streaming .mov file at my ip address - instead I just get a "mediaplayer" icon which, if i click it, tries to save the .mov file to the harddrive of the N900 instead of playing the live video...
