Ok so the default App for facebook is OK but you can't really use facebook with it its justs a widget that scrolls your friends status updates and links to the FB site....

The Facebook Chat integration is great too it is still not a full facebook client.

Facebook Touch -> however is a great web-based facebook client optimized for mobile phones with every feature of the OG FB but just a little lighter.

It is great!!!!

goto http://touch.facebook.com/

And please tell me what you guys think!!!!

I seem to like the Facebook Lite version better as I dont need the FB chat as much. I wonder how much different are the touch and lite versions really.

Hrm... Is the "touch" version of Facebook similar to the "iPhone" version? If so, have you tried running Facebook in the full desktop mode? I'm not saying that a native client wouldn't be useful, but as I recall, the full site worked in the N810's browser, and given how much faster the N900 at most other sites in comparison, I would think it would be quite usable, and give you full functionality. Just curious...

Best browsed in portrait mode, using shortcutd and associating a long press of the camera button to the back button of the browser.

The full site actually work very well on N900, and it's faster than on my 5800XM. I've heard people said they could play flash game on it but I haven't tried,

Thanks! Lite and Touch versions are great suggestions for the N900, although I would like to like to see a dedicated application (other than the existing widget).

OR, it would be great if a future update of the Facebook widget, would allow the user to choose which Facebook version to open (Lite, Touch or the original one)!
e.g. by adding such option in the settings(?)

What do you think?

I just don't understand why people want a facebook application. The browser works perfectly, what do you need a app for?!

I like Facebook lite more, because it is more optimized for the N900 resolution, and also provides more features.

lite.facebook.com

I agree. The browser works perfectly, but I would like something more compact and less data consuming when I am on 3G coz my data plan doesn't allow a great amount of MBs. Hopefully an app will help to minimize the amount of data received every time I logon.

I will see how the Lite and Touch versions work for now.

By the way, I wish there was a way to manually refresh the updates that appear on the Widget. I never know when it is refreshing or how fresh the update is....
