OOPS - should posted this in devices/N900

Sorry if this has been covered, I did do a search. Normally the e-mail client works OK for me (2 business accounts and a Gmail account all via imap) but I keep finding that e-mails I have deleted off the N900 still arrive in my laptop inbox when I later log in.

This morning I had 10 e-mail in one of my business accounts and deleted all of them (overnight spam and dross) then I did a folder properties search and although the main screen said it was empty, the properties said there were 10 messages in the folder. When I logged on to my laptop 30 mins later and fired up Outlook, lo and behold, some of my deleted messages arrive.

Is this a known issue or am I on my own?

This is a known issue on POP3 which has been fixed already for modest. Unfortunately I don't think the patch has yet been deployed by Nokia. Not noticed this issue with my own IMAP accounts though.

I have noticed this on my IMAP accounts, deleting and remaking the accounts fixes it for a while, as far as I can tell it might come from closing modest whilst it's syncing (which is wrong since it should stay syncing in the background whilst periodically checking for emails)...

Don't seem to have the issue now using Nokia Messaging.

Come on guys. Somebody must have some idea about the imap issue. I have the same problem. Deleting the mails on my N900 just makes them invisible to the N900. Logging in through a webmail account you find them striked out only.
Btw, I have the same issue on my work email which is configured as pop3, and yes the option to leave a copy on the server is not enabled.
HELP

slotti: You know that what you call "Deleting" is in fact "Set the DELETED flag" only, and that "Expunging" is something else? I don't see a bug with the IMAP behaviour at all, because that is how IMAP exactly works.

Where's the expunge option?

I believe there is a setting in preferences of the email client to remove emails upon delete. You may not have it checked.

Funny, I map on my E65 worked differently. So how would you "expunge"? And what about the pop3 doing the same thing, just setting the flag"

Are we talking about the email client on the N900? If so, I have yet to find that setting...Any hint as in where it is hiding?

I don't see it either - where is there an expunge option, or delete on server and n900 option?

It's very annoying having to deleting things twice (or hide once, and delete later).

Is there a bug out there on this? (Or if you want to call it a feature request, is that out there?)

I'd like to vote on this issue - the imap is pretty much "unfinished" at this point.
