Hi
I hope you don't mind me posting on here re this.

I currently have the N900 having had it for only 10 days i am having horrific problems with freezing and reboot/shutdown non responsiveness problems
I've tried alot of the fixes removing aps and restarting/removing battery etc but to no avail.
Vodafone will replace the phone if faulty within 28 days and although i love this phone i may not be able to get another one to replace it due to the lack of availability.

I just wondered apart from the difference in spec which i have read up on if anyone has actually used the HTC touch pro 2 and how they felt it compared to this?

Thanks in advance

I have both, the HTC has more app selection, due to win-mo 6.5 being out fo so long, the keyboard on htc is awsome. I like the N900 better,
better performance,
better browser,
better OS,
better camera,
better storage.
It beats the HTC, and with the latest firmware its very stable. But if you want apps go with HTC.

thanks for your reply for me its not about the apps so much as having a stable phone. I have loved the n900 and think its an amazing devise although my last phone was the sony ericsson w980 so i can't really judge. But the probs i am having with the n900 put me off slightly not to mension the missing phone functions. Like you said surfing the web is fab on the n900 but i have a netbook for that, have to admit to it being fab to lie in bed tho and go on my facebook and also pick up my emails and msn :0)
I may not have a choice tho as when i got the phone due to lack of stock the forum mods pulled in some of these devises from business and as such said if it became faulty in 28 days they could not replace the handset for a n900 it'd have to be an eqivilent devise :0(
Does the touch pro 2 have msn and facebook aps simular to the n900?

Also for my fingers the n900's keyboard has been a little unusable so i use the touch screen but it does not always transmit what i have written onto the facebook box so i have to try and type it with the keyboard. Is the HTC TP2 a far lesser phone to the N900 do you think?

N900 all the way!!!

I just had a touch pro 2, used the stock rom, and every single custom rom known to man... even with sense 2.5 it got boring quick..

My n900 is Rock solid stable so I am sure you have a faulty one.. Get a new one via warranty and you will be VERY happy with your phone.

I am a person that wants:

Stable, coolness, function, and fun to use.. the 900 has it all..

I have had the G1, mytouch 3g, touch pro 2, htc hero unlocked..

n900 is perfect.. just get a good one.

/agree

N900 is the better phone unless you want tons of apps, but we will have that soon too.

And as stated, your device is faulty.
A well documented issue that can only be fixed with a replacement device.

Just tell them you will wait for a new N900.
The HTC is nice indeed but pretty boring rather quickly, at least I thought so, and I'm in no way an elite coder dev but enjoy freedom and cant wait to see the Meego stuff in the near future!

No it basically does everything that a normal consumer will do with a phone, but apps like TomTom, real MSN messenger, real Facebook app and much of the other official apps made by the official companies(not a work around community created apps like on N900).

But in performance you will find the HTC slow and lagging sometimes.

Go with N900 its better phone and all around gadget.
