Here is a thread for people to talk about little features that could improve the already near-perfect Nokia N900 + Maemo, that could easily be sorted out by amatuer powerusers (i.e. not me ). Hopefully some power users will take a look and work on them!

Your replies will be noted and the most simple, popular and effective ideas will be moved to this post, so power users, developers and the like may see and hopefully do!

If this topic gets good enough, it may even become sticky, so stick to the outline rules I mentioned and the moderators wont write it off so easily.

Requested Simple Features:

• Allow for creating Groups in contacts, and assigning contacts to said groups.
• An "auto merge contacts" feature
• Ability to add contacts to SIM.
• Ability during a call to have a short button to access Contacts menu (in order to find specific contact and tell his/her number to the person on the line).
• Ability to send songs in Media Player to pre-saved playlist, rather than just "current playlist".
• Ability to remove songs from Media Player playlists.
• "More..." Icon from Settings as a possible desktop icon
• Ability to create folders in "More..." location in Settings, and move applications to them.
• A "LED Settings" page where you can choose and colour and pattern for each type of notification
• Ability to turn 3G on ONLY when a browser is open (or even allow for the option to create a list for all applications that 3G will turn on for) - Note I am talking about this happening automatically, I am aware of the application to change network manually
• Video calls over IM protocols
• File sending of IM protocols
• Alarm to not go off every hour if you are not home to turn it off. Going off 3-5 times, like old Nokia phones, is enough!
• Calendar entries could have a default of no alarm, rather than 15 minutes.

Note to power users/developers:
I fully understand that I am a complete amatuer and I may make mistakes about how "simple" some of these things really are. I also admit that I haven't been following the vast number of threads and bug reports etc. about all the different features that are being developed. I also admit you are better than me in every way. So please, if I have mentioned anything that is already being/has been developed, can't be developed or is too complicated to be considered "simple", please tell me in a calm, neutral (or even encouraging!) way and I will gladly remove it from the list without any question or negativity

I reckon this stuff needs adding:

EDIT: Oh and allow saving MSN addresses to Outlook so they can be synced
