Basically i need some means of speeding up and slowing down an audio track in real time. This is crucial cause i'll be reading in a BPM value elsewhere and i need the audio to change with it.

File format doesn't matter too much, and neither does the track's bit rate.
And also if the pitch changes along with the tempo, thats kinda alright. Obviously it would be good if it didn't tho!

Does anyone know if this has been done for the n810 before? Or if anyone can point me in the direction of some source code for doing such a thing?

Mplayer has a scaletempo option which I have used on a lap top. I have not tried it under Maemo.
