Yeah, thats true, scrolling is not really smooth on N900... BUT: I got recently a iPhone 3G and this thing is slow and not smooth at all! Seriously, after using it for the last two weeks (as a test...) I have to say even my N97 was faster and smoother... I really don't understand this hype and why everything has to be compared to this suboptimal device.

Simply because it's coming from Apple. Their marketing department is the best one in the world at the moment. At every product unveiling they have the nerve to tout features that have been around for ages as new, apple exclusive inventions. And the Apple fanbois buy into it. Now I could get into a 10 page rant on the subject, but I'll stop here...

Can you point out which feature they've touted as their own 'exclusive invention'? A URL to said claims perhaps?

I can't seem to fully enjoy my N900 as there is lacking in smooth scrolling.
1 weird thing though, the fps gets better when running the Canola2 media player. Quite smooth.
Smooth on Canola2 application (probably there are other apps too) but not on the outside (Maemo UI itself)?
Why?
If there's a fix for this, I would like to know what.
