is there any way to Backing up installed Packages to be installed later without re downloading them again to the device, any software to do that Similar to APTonCD (http://aptoncd.sourceforge.net/index.html),
recently i need to re-flash the firmware many times and the default backup will not create a backup of the installed packages , just a list of them to be downloaded and installed later, what would be very helpful is to have a way to backup the installed packages to the memory card

thats a great idea, as the app manager does d/l the deb files, so how hard could it be? not very.. and how useful would it be? very!

What we need is for Flasher 3.5 to work in reverse. Exactly like in the case of ROMs for windows mobile.

Is Flasher 3.5 open source? This device is meant for experimenting. Re-flashing often is compulsory. But doing everything from 0 is inconvenient. Reliance on online repos is all nice and linuxy. but not very reliable. important .debs might be here today but gone tomorrow. very inconvenient.

EXAMPLE: I had to flash to get to 1.1. but DFTP. one of the programs I use the most. stopped working. the ".install" jus wouldn't work. somthing about qt4.6 missing. i had to dig in devel for it. seems the name or placement have changed. finally installed it. but still DFTP wouldnt work properly. somthing has changed. IT WAS WORKING PERFECTLY BEFORE!!

If i had an image, i would flash back. DFTP was more important to me than anything in 1.1.

That is great! We really need a way to back up installed apps. A way to extract them from the ROM/Memory. Is there anyone who can help us?

I agree. Looking at testing/reporting bugs, and it would be great to have something like this.
another thought also, is to have where the app/install came from. extras, extras-testing, extras-devel or other repository.
