I think it would be nice if there is an app like that for my N900!

There's no registry on the N900 (and thank goodness for that). The only thing a 'CCleaner' could do, I guess, is the 'removing unused files' part. But I'm not sure exactly what that would be. The application manager automatically removes any downloaded files after installation, and if you use apt-get install instead then you can just do 'apt-get clean' and that's taken care of. Whatever the browser caches can be removed by the browser itself IIRC, and what's left then?

In short, I don't see too much use for a 'CCleaner'..

Maemo is linux... not windows. An app like ccleaner would not do much.

Thats not entirely true... It can still clean unwanted things, move things out of the way, just a different end target...

So clean up room in root ....
Search for unused packages etc....
Move fonts etc....
Ensure python is optified

thats just a start....

Dangerous, unless you know it can be removed.

Search for unused packages etc....
Handled automatically via the Application Manager, and by the user if done via the console.

Ensure python is optified
This shouldn't need to be checked by a 3rd party program.

Linux doesn't have the free-for-all layout and operational characteristics Windows has that lend to its accumulation of useless cruft.

There is Bleachbit which might be a possible candidate for porting.
