I us it everyday. now there is silence ... i tried to turn off and on . and nothing .. all i did is upgrade the bejeweled knock off and it stop working.. What are the steps to check this and other problems ..note i like to gadgets not a computer software guy.. so be kind to me .

- First look that there is at least ½ of battery left
- Shut down
- Take off battery
- Put it back and restart

Ok. well i found the problem . i hooked up the phone to my tv and worked fine audio and video.. I hooked up my earphones and nothing. . Got some i pod earphones and worked fine.. so the outcome is that my earphones don't work but they work on other audio devices .. go figure. so its a stale mate.. earphone don't work on my phone but it works on everyone elses .. everyone elses earphone works on my phone.. jeez...

What if you pull out the headphones a bit?

i tried that too. all i hear is some kind of connection noise then it stops.. weird.. i suspect that there will be more problems to come with the same issue.. it always happens to me first !

What about the headphones that shipped with the N900?

those are the one's that are giving me problems..

Try wiping the tomato sauce of the plug before putting it in.
