Let's talk about something called giving money for a phone like this... Ok, I'm Nokia fun and I will always be, but I'm bit disappointed with a lot of things... What we got for 550 euros (price in my country) is just a phone with sms function (nothing special- many things are missing), call function (many bugs), camera (today experienced a problem- started camera and when shutter button pressed, contacts open and it froze itself)... Web is ok for now, but honestly expected a bit more. And what else... Linux is great solution for many things, but having bugs and problems that are every day different is just not ok. Nokia should consider of implenenting stronger camera, better processors (faster) and everything I can see is that 90% of people here are waiting for new update and sit with their finger on the mouse to do it. What is going to be better, what will be same, noone knows. This open source is great thing, but c'mon, you didn't expect that people fix bugs on their own. Just give us working OS and we will enjoy making it open. I just hope as rest of you that my money is more valuable than this phone is now...

P.S. Sorry if my english is wrong... Best regards

I appreciate you posting this in nonconfrontational-fashion... that's better than most of these threads start out.

I'll only address one point since most of that is subjective: people who voluntarily fix bugs for Maemo aren't expected to-- they relish the opportunity. I wish more coming into this would accept that.

I dind't say that fixing bugs and everything connected to this open source is wrong... I really enjoy seeing people doing their job and I'm sorry for not beeing able to do the same... I use that fixes, modds, and everything else that is making things work bettes... This is subjective opinion, I'm not posting anything offensive to Nokia, people on this forum or any of the users... As I said, I'm just bit disappointed, that's all... Hope that my wishes are not something huge... :-)

Then I guess I don't understand this statement

This open source is great thing, but c'mon, you didn't expect that people fix bugs on their own
Are you suggesting that Nokia has fixed zero bugs?

The internet is superb! I often use it over my Mac if I want to do any browsing, thats how good it is.

I hate that this place is where people come to vent about how they don't like the product. If you don't like it, sell it, and get something you like rather than putting a big negative spin on the forums.

Didn't mean that people fix all of the bugs, but updates are just too slow... Sorry for beeing direct and honest... And also for last reply, I didn't say that I don't like it, and that I hate it... Just want everything working and it feels that is going just too slow... I even suggested some stuff in bugzilla, solved it... I want to be active as much as I can...

Also, and again... I didn't post this to insult anyone, or to be one more idiot who is not using 10% of the phone and start to complain... I love it, and I want it all...

I have had my annoyances with my N900 but none compare to the 2 weeks I had to do without it.

To me it is not a mobile phone, more a pocket pc that can also makde calls. I have tried the droids, apples, palms and even wm!! However if you want an all singing all dnacing phone then maybe the N900 is not the best choice.

Next time, do your research before buying something.
Missing phone features have been known since August, you have only yourself to blame for that.

No need to apologize for being direct and honest-- everyone should be. No offense, I just didn't see that statement as honest.
