Tomorrow is my birthday so I'm going to buy a Nokia N900 .

Now I'm an artsy type of person so I love my drawing apps, but what I'd like to know is how sensitive is the N900's touchscreen with stylus/finger use? Is the screen soft, or a bit tough like the original NDS's is

the screen is not rock hard like glass, it is soft, and gives a nic resistance when u draw on it with the stylus.
it's easy to draw a sketch.

In terms of touch detection, it's VERY sensitive.
In terms of scratches, same as above, buy it with a screen protector

I actually bought these screen protectors from ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:AAQ:US:1123

Still in the mail but it was recommended by one of the wellknown maemo users: viet Also be beware of other ebay sellers who might sell you some crappy protectors.

I also read on the website about what they are using and it seems totally worth it without the expensive price tag.

The only problem that I'm having is with the case. I dont wanna buy one of those leather cases but rather a hard case so that I have quick access to my n900 without any hassle.

btw, i bought it on march 5th and not a single scratch because i've been extremely careful and was looking for a good screen protector all that time.

hope that helped.

take the ones from brando (or if you are in germany the ones from exim, they are the same).
here are two photos, showing how accurate they're:
http://picasaweb.google.de/zehjotkah/TalkMaemoOrg#

edit:
also these are the only protectors which don't have cut-outs for:
status LED (why should someone need a cut-out for a LED???)
front cam (simply not needed)
distance sensor (also not needed)

there are two different types: ultra-clear: 100% transparent, you won't notice that there is a protector, without any cut-outs,
and ultra-protect, with anti-glare effect, paper-like feeling while writing, cut-out for the frontcam.
