From Reggie Suplido tweets:

#MeeGo 1.0 in May, 1.1 in October, 6 months cadence from thereon

#MeeGo Day 1 is March 31st.

@valhalla_: "I am running N900 with file system built from MeeGo repo and Maemo5 kernel now"

Atom systems and N900 w/OMAP3 will be supported on Day 1. #meego #maemo
We can develop/test apps for MeeGo on netbooks N900 stays with Maemo as phone

+1 for testing on netbooks... But why not dual boot the N900?

It's a developer's release for everyone. Meaning that anyone could install it, but you should only install it if your a developer since it will not be as feature-complete and stable as the existing Maemo 5 OS.

So you could install it, just don't except everything to work.

it would be good, if it would be possible to install Meego as a secondary OS along with Maemo5. So there would be a boot menu where one chooses either one. The root fs would be different for each OS, but /home and /usr/share and such would stay the same. On the first OS one could mount the secondary OS's root fs also, /mnt/Maemo5_root /mnt/Meego1_root

def looking forward to meego more and more, especially after MS decided to take the apple route and not allow multitasking and only allowing approved apps to be installed.

Now we just need some kickass hardware for the launch of the first meego device.

Would the day 1 release for N900 allow phone/sms? If so, I would definitely install it on my N900.
