Is it safe to assume that Nokia is holding off on the release of OVI maps 3.03 for Maemo until PR1.2?
Perhaps the reason being that the application uses Qt4.6 or some other components which are not ready in the current software versions.

Or has anyone learned new info about the reasons for the delay?

moderator: could this be moved to pr 1.2 thread?

you have all speculation and zero facts. it could be like you say it or it could be exact opposite or anything between.

i even dont think ovi maps 3.x is written in QT..
Because OVI maps 3 is already pretty old for the S60 world. And how long do they now have (if even) QT there?

So please people ovi maps 3.0.3 is really something different and made for S60. My guess is if they would have one release it would be something like OVI maps 4

i dont think there's much hope. All we can do is add more wild speculations to the already long list (as much as I would love to see Ovi Maps 3 ON MY N900)

There is slim to zero hope of this.

"version 3" is for a completely different platform anyway and there is little similarity between the N900 version of maps and the symbian version.

I'm sick of the stupid chat about "ovi maps 3". What we really need is microsoft access 2007 - can't wait for this in pr1.2

No it's not. People assuming too much are the reason this forum is full of "Why is it not there?!!? Nokia lied to us!!!11" crap.
