If you order from these numpties make sure you go for £10.99 48-72hrs delivery option as I assume it has a tracking number. Being a tight arse I opted for the £4.99 Royal Mail Delivery and it now looks like my N800 has gone AWOL

Here's the great bit.... I have to wait THREE WEEKS before it's considered missing, then they carry out an investigation before I get another N800 or refund.

How they can't ship such a small box using a reliable courier for under £10 is a complete mystery to me, not amused.

http://direct.nokia.com/Product.aspx?model=n800 includes standard delivery via UPS. Or at least it did when I ordered one a month or so ago.

Note I gave a link to Nokia Direct, not shop.nokia.co.uk. It's also cheaper here, as has been discussed before in earlier threads.

The direct shop are under instructions to no longer sell the Nokia N800 to UK users and instead are redirecting to the more expensive Nokia shop. Annoying, as I think Nokia Shop are overpriced at £279, and this doesn't equate to the Euro's price, approx £10 too much.

Are you sure? I ordered one from them on Sunday and it was shipped yesterday by UPS.

Mine arrived faulty from direct.nokia.com, they don't issue replacements, only refund, you then have to rebuy. But when I spoke to them they said they have been asked to not sell to the UK.

Thinking that when I get my refund (still waiting), I'll need to rebuy from somewhere, I emailed Nokia shop about their pricing and got this reply last week
Thank you for contacting the Nokia UK Online Shop.

Please note that the Nokia UK online shop (www.nokia.co.uk/shop) is now the ONLY Nokia store selling to the UK. Nokia direct does not sell in the UK. If you wish to purchase a N800, please use our website.

Kind regards
Nokia UK Online Shop Customer Service team
Actually has anyone seen them in the shops in the UK? I read this press release that they will be sold in John Lewis, but I've not seen them there.

OK so the thread title should read:

WARNING, ROYAL MAIL ARE USELESS

Turns out it's been sat at my local sorting office since the 16th, I had ordered on the 14th

The posty didn't put a card through my door, the really annoying thing being I went down there on the 19th to collect something else they did leave a card for so it would have been three feet away from me on the shelf

Anyway, charging now

Well in that case UPS are useless too, since they didn't leave a card with me. But at least the online tracking made it clear that my N800 was at the depot.

Not directly related to the N800, but Royal Mail really are a bad postal service. I'm in Finland and sold quite a lot of bits and bobs on ebay last summer to various countries in Europe (UK, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Sweden etc). The ones sent to Britain took about a week longer to arrive than to any other, and I know the problem was at the Royal Mail end because the delay always happened after the parcels had left Finland.
