would anyone be willing to upload the full kernel/OS updated and patched with sdhc in a ".bin" format. I want to try to flash my n800 with the wizard from nokia in ms windows. Feel free to tell me that this cant work and why if thats the case =) 3 live boot cds later and i still cant boot up in linux (errors with knoppix, nbu, etc..) and dual boot isnt really an option. Thanks if you can help!

p.s. i have searched site and google for many days now =/

Hope that's what you're looking for. Works great for me, though I did flash the .bin using flasher in Linux.

The OP is asking for a modified FIASCO image and I don't think it's possible to create (pack) a FIASCO image from the constiuent parts. The OP needs must use the Linux flasher to flash a modified kernel - use a Live CD (search the forum).

If you have windows only, there is kernel flasher which works directly on the device. It was meant for N770 but it works on N800 too. You need root access on your device to run it.

I have just flashed my N800 (got it yesterday :-) with SDHC kernel using this flasher and it worked fine.

I'm having the same problem. Fanoush, what commands do I use to run the kernelflasher on my n800?

Durag5,

Fanoush helped me out with this. Don't place the files in the documents folder place them in the root directory of the n800. I did the same thing. Check out this thread http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...626#post37626). This should help!

Well doesn't matter where you put those files as long as you can find them and the flashing script is not on FAT partition on MMC (mounted with noexec). I didn't read this so I just provided easiest way. You can use Documents too if you know it ends up in MyDocs/.documents.

would someone have the time to write the instructions down to install the new sdhc kernal so that I can install it? I'd love to do it, I have the time and I'm willing to put in the effort. I'm at the stage where I'm used to a dialogue box that asks me if I want to install and responding yes. I have no idea what flashing is other than running across the stage nude Like a previous writer here I have a windows computer, no linux experience and no software manipulating skills. If you don't think I have a shot at this it's fine to tell me that too.

Thanks,
Neil
