I don't normally visit facebook that often and have no need of a facebook widget.
I wanted to check out the site today and noticed an odd behavior form firefox. It seems that when I visit facebook it always takes me to the mobile version of the site. Even when I specifically go to facebook.com visiting the "home" or "profile" links will revert back to m.facebook.
I tried it using MicroB and it takes me to the full site and stays on it without reverting to the mobile.

I'm guessing that facebook is checking the browser info and redirecting based on that. Is there a way to stop this behavior from the browser side?

You will need to change the user-agent. Facebook sees firefox mobile and thus redirects you to the mobile site.

my connection settings stay the same no matter if i'm using firefox or microB, but firefox is the only one that redirects to the mobile site. My guess is the issue is browser rlated and not connection related.

I know that firefox has an add-on to change the user-agent but it does not have one for firefox mobile. Do you know how to go about changing the mobile to the regular firefox user-agent?

Ok figured it out. Just needed more patience on google.

For anyone else who doesn't know how to do it:
go to url -> about:config
change -> general.useragent.extra.mobile to Firefox/3.6.1

there's another thing I wish to ask.

I've just installed the Firefox 5 beta and I have a facebook widget on my desktop. Whenever I click on the widget before this, it automatically goes to my MicroB and opens the homepage of Facebook without any problems.

Now, when I set Firefox 5 beta as my default, I click on the widget, it opens firefox but it can't seem to find the URL which is file://home/user/www.facebook.com. How do I fix this so that it opens it in firefox normally?

Is it me or does the firefox 5 beta open real slow and it sort of closes the app for a short while before starting up normally?
