Ive noticed that theres a known bug for maemo 4 and the default media player, that some deleted files may not disappear from the default media players contents list. I am having the same issue with my n900 and its maemo 5 default media player, I have one video file that was deleted and no longer exists, yet is still listed whenever I restart the player. Is this a known bug - I wasnt sure if maemo 4 used the exact same player as 5 or not, so just checking... thanks for any info

You probably need to reset tracker. See for example http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=37875
