I have tried searching and can't find a relevant specific thread - so apologies if you more technically able sorts believe I am duplicating.

I am trying to sync my N900's contacts with gmail.

I have finally managed to get the first "bar" to fill up when attempting to sync (I had been using @gmail as opposed to @googlemail for my username, as I do everywhere else on google, and it didn't like it), but after a long delay, trying to sync contacts only, it tells me the server is not responding and asks me to check the settings.

They are as per the various threads on different sites for MfE and Nokia.

I am close to screaming as I have 600 contacts, sync'd from an S60 device and modified since, that I want to get up onto gmail contacts.

Any and all advice appreciated ASAP.

It's written in this section of the wiki but I'll tell you anyway. If you don't get it to work you could try your luck with NuevaSync. It's supposed to be good.
