The command they use to start it is this:
java -cp jts.jar:hsqldb.jar:jcommon-1.0.12.jar:jfreechart-1.0.9.jar:jhall.jar
ther.jar:rss.jar -Xmx512M jclient.LoginFrame .The -Xmx512M option sets the max memory use to 512 MB which is a bit much for the n900

install icedTea6 and then you should be able to run java apps. I have tried one or two jar's successfully
