Well since we are all waiting for the PR 1.2 release which in reality will probably be now big deal I was going to see if there are more apps to update.

Now when I click on update in the app manager it seems 3 catalogues are unavailable

Nokia Applications
https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/re...apps/./Pakages
could not resolve host: donwloads.mameo.nokia.com (Domain Name not found)

Nokia Sysem Software Update
https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/re.../mr0/./Pakages
could not resolve host: donwloads.mameo.nokia.com (Domain Name not found)

Ovi
https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/re.../ovi/./Pakages
could not resolve host: donwloads.mameo.nokia.com (Domain Name not found)

Can anybody tell me what is wrong.

--------------
Also there seems to be an battery-eye 0.7 out but https://garage.maemo.org/news/?group_id=1292 telles me 0.6.6 is the newest. I would love to update battery eye over the app manager. Why is this not possible.

Thanks for your help
Markus

Those lines don't fit.
You either have
Code:
 donwloads.mameo.nokia.com
in your configuration (where it should read downloads.maemo.nokia.com) or you misspelled the server name in the error message.

I suggest you check your App Manager configuration for typos.

What you are missing is that these are the repos already on the device. He has no need to configure the repo himself. They used to work for him now they do not. Something has changed somewhere along the line whether it be on his internet or Nokias' servers.

Pardon me, I'm not missing that those are the standard repositories. I most certainly have those on my N900 as well and they do work.

I still recommend he'll check the server names in his catalog list. That's the most obvious thing to do, given the error message he posted.

its really begining to annoy me at this stage ive ran out of ideas i thought it might be a lack of root but i have like 40 megs left even so i tried the sudo gainroot - apt-get clean and apt-get autoremove commands but nothing

Several people have reported issues with these repos. Some say it's their internet connection, some say it's to do with the update thats "coming" one thing is for certain though, an address does not just magically change and put random letter configurations in them. So yes, perhaps he should check them but i'm sure as hell he won't find anything different.

@OP, sorry I can't help.

Sure, but that's a very broad statement.

As I was pointing out, the OP's error message does not match (at least what he believes to be) his configuration. Why - we don't know. He might have tried to tweak the repository URLs since he unboxed his N900. You know like - some people do. I did

So unless we know, this is the first thing to check ("App Manager" -> "Application Catalogs").

Now if those URLs are correct, we can go on and try more esoteric explanations like:

I agree with what you're saying and I don't want to start a debate/argument I just don't think that the amount of people that have reported the issue and say things like they haven't touched it would be lying.
