HTML 5 has the same quirks, but for (mainly- some similar) different technical reasons
BTW, Mr. Jobs seems like a tool to me.

Did you have the 64-bit version of Firefox and flashplugin?
And as a Flash/Flex dev, I find the fact that most browsers have used the older Netscape model for plugins. Time for an overhaul, like the one Chrome is thinking about doing.
