Yep, It's my first scratch, even though really small. It really sucks because the phone had been free of any damage for 6 months. I have it invisible shielded and everything. 
Sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest. I hate the metal part around it. It's so vulnerable.

Well, my N900 has been going around for about 2 months naked, and there is absolutely no scratches.
The inside of the battery cover, however... Somehow a scratch made it in.

no idea how hair got there

What I had bought is an Edding 8405 metal marker but right out of the package this marker won't mark not even a little stripe!!
